Editorial Review Policy
At Healthy Bangladesh, we take the accuracy of our health content seriously. This page explains exactly how we research, write, review, and update every article â so you always know where our information comes from and how much to trust it.
1. How We Research Our Articles
Every article on Healthy Bangladesh is built on a foundation of credible primary sources. Our research hierarchy is:
- International health authorities â World Health Organization (WHO), CDC, NHS (UK), and peer-reviewed meta-analyses published in major medical journals (BMJ, The Lancet, JAMA, NEJM).
- Bangladesh national health data â Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN), and Bangladesh National Nutrition Council guidelines.
- Peer-reviewed research â Primary studies accessed through PubMed, Google Scholar, and open-access repositories. We prioritise randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and systematic reviews over individual observational studies.
- Local clinical expertise â Where available, we reference dietary and clinical recommendations that account for the Bangladeshi food environment, climate, and socioeconomic context.
We do not treat anecdote, personal testimonials, brand claims, or social media content as evidence. Any recommendation on this site can be traced back to a published, citable source.
2. How Health Claims Are Verified
Before any health claim appears in an article, it goes through a structured verification process:
Our Claim Verification Checklist
- â The claim is supported by at least one peer-reviewed study or authoritative guideline
- â The source is cited in the article or available upon request
- â Dosages, quantities, and timelines match published research â we do not exaggerate effects
- â Any claim about a specific condition (diabetes, hypertension, etc.) is cross-checked against MOHFW or WHO guidelines
- â Nutrient data for Bangladeshi foods is verified against IPHN food composition tables where possible
- â We clearly distinguish between “research suggests” and “proven to” â we do not overstate certainty
If a claim cannot be verified through a credible primary source, it is either removed or clearly labelled as anecdotal or community-based knowledge.
3. Medical Disclaimer & When to See a Doctor
